ABOUT RODRICK

Rodrick (Rod) Donald was raised in Noxapater, MS. He is an heir of a host of extremely talented and highly acclaimed musicians and vocalists that ministered at several prominent churches throughout the South and Midwest. At eight years old, Rod started traveling and performing with his father's gospel quartet group, The Sunset Travelers. He’s also ministered in concerts with many professional singing groups such as The Jackson Southernaires, The Williams Brothers, and Willie Banks and the Messengers. At age fourteen, Rod became an official member of his father's group as a singer and drummer. Those opportunities served as the initial catalyst for him to pursue gospel music as a career. In the early 90’s Rod won the city-wide Louisville talent search as a vocalist. In 1996 Rod's passion for singing moved him west to Los Angeles, California where he began his professional career as a vocalist. Initially, he expressed interest in pursuing the R&B genre of music, but his deep gospel roots soon drew him back to his first love, which is to minister, spread and share the good news of his Savior Jesus Christ through gospel music. In 2007, Rod was a featured vocalist and background singer on a Contemporary Christian Gospel project entitled "God is Real" with recording artist Sharon MaRee. In 2009, Rod joined forces with songwriter Daniel Davis who brought him to the attention of Laythan Armor, a renowned platinum selling music producer, musician, and artist. These three individuals have collaborated on a spiritual partnership to form D.A.D. ( Davis, Armor & Donald) a song writing/publishing entity. Currently, Rodrick is a member of Apostolic Faith Home Assembly Church praise team and choir in Southern California. Prepare to be tremendously blessed in your spirit, soul and body by the ministry and gifts of Rodrick Donald!
